Editorial criteria

Editorial Tecnocientífica Americana (Etecam) publishes books generated from research results in the different branches of science. Its main mission is to promote, foster, disseminate and commercialize the results of scientific research.

Manuscript Submission

In order to evaluate your publication proposal, you should send us an email with the subject "Editorial Proposal". The e-mail address is etecam3110@gmail.com You should send the following documents as attachments. 

- Abstract of the work

- Manuscript of the work

- Curriculum vitae of the authors

- 1 photo of each author

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. All books submitted for possible publication must be of an eminently academic nature, due to the nature of the publishing house.
  2. Books in Spanish, English and Portuguese will be accepted.
  3. The receipt of a book does not imply its acceptance for publication.
  4. The collaborations are submitted, in the first instance, to an editorial opinion, which consists of verifying that the work corresponds to the subject matter of the publishing house and that it complies with each and every one of the established guidelines.
  5. The resolutions of the opinion process are: Accept submission (approved for publication without changes), Revisions needed (approved for publication when minor corrections have been met), Resubmit for revision (conditioned to mandatory changes and a new evaluation), Resubmit to another site (when it does not respond to the journal's profile), Reject submission.
  6. In the case of discrepant results, a third opinion will be sent, which will be final.
  7. The results of the opinions are final.
  8. The examiners are solely responsible for reviewing the changes made in the case of results subject to resubmission.
  9. The limit of resubmissions for a work is three times, after which the book is rejected for exceeding this limit.
  10. The author has thirty calendar days to make corrections.
  11. The Editorial Committee of the publishing house may make style corrections and editorial changes it deems necessary to improve the work, without changing its content.
  12. Any unforeseen case will be resolved by the Editorial Committee of the publishing house.
  13. All books must be submitted in digital format in Word, Arial 12 font, single spaced and in English paragraph type (without indentation in the first line).
  14. All books will be submitted to a process of peer review by two members of the publishing house's pool of referees, which is composed of prestigious academics from national and international institutions, always external to the authors' institution of affiliation.
  15. The full name of the author(s) and the institution to which he/she belongs should appear on the cover of the book.
  16. Acronyms should be defined the first time they appear in the text, bibliography, tables, charts and graphs. For example, in the text the first time it should be written: Generalized Ability to Read (Hagle).
  17. Authors may use the material of their book in other works or texts published by them on the condition that they cite the publisher Etecam: Editorial Tecnocientífica Americana, as the original source of the texts.
  18. Books with more than ten authors will not be published.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PUBLICATION OF BOOKS

  1. The title must reveal the semantic key of the text.
  2. Titles and subtitles must be differentiated from each other, for this purpose the use of the decimal system is recommended.
  3. Illustrations (maps, charts, tables and graphs) should be strictly necessary and should be self-explanatory without having to resort to the text for their understanding. They should be placed at the moment they are referred to in the text. They cannot EXCEED 12.5 cm in WIDTH and 18.6 cm in LENGTH.
  4. Photos that support the scientificity of the work are accepted. They cannot EXCEED 12.5 cm WIDTH and 18.6 cm LENGTH.
  5. Footnotes should only be explanatory or explanatory, i.e., they should serve to expand or illustrate what is said in the body of the text, and not to indicate bibliographical sources, since that is what the bibliography is for. Notes should be footnotes and not at the end of the book in Arial 10.0-point font.
  6. Citations should use the APA-7 system. The reference should contain the complete references of the works of the authors cited in the body of the text, without adding others that are not cited, and self-citations should not exceed 30% of the total.
  7. The reference should be written in the same system, ordered alphabetically and chronologically as appropriate. Do not use continuous capital letters. The surnames and names of the authors should be complete, i.e., abbreviations should not be used.
  8. The references should be only those cited in the body of the book.

STRUCTURE OF THE BOOK

  1. Only books submitted by a maximum of ten authors will be accepted. They should have a minimum length of 60 pages in pages of content. In Microsoft Word. In letter size, single spaced with 6.0 points between paragraphs. The general text of the book will be in Arial 12.0-point font with initial capital letters and no indentation. Paragraphs adjusted to the margins: top, outside, bottom and inside of 2.5 cm. Letter size paper with symmetrical margins.
  2. A 1x1 photo of the author, a mini curriculum vitae in 60 words and a summary of the text up to 150 words must be submitted with the book.
